Featured Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Movie Review

by Indian Cinema

‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ which ranks among the first twenty most-anticipated movies of this year is finally out in the theatres. The favorite archeologist adventurer of all moviegoers returns for another globe-trotting trek as George Lucas and Steven Spielberg team with screenwriter David Koepp to bring Indiana Jones back to the big screen after nearly 19 years!

In this adventure, the world-renowned archaeologist finds himself caught in a series of events that all point to a discovery unlike any other. But will his rivals in pursuit of this priceless treasure seize his quarry from right under his nose? Is Harrison Ford too old for his role? Will there be Nazis? What treasure will Harrison be looking for? Watch it to get your answers.

What made the ‘Indiana Jones’ series so exciting and fresh back in the 80s was its lightness of touch and its spirit. Though this flavor hasn’t totally disappeared, there are some long-winded explanations of myths, legend and hieroglyphics in the film about Indy’s mission to Peru for a crystal skull. In order to keep up the aesthetic continuity of the previous films, more reliance has been placed on the traditional stunt work than on the computer-generated imagery.

Despite these pitfalls, the movie is a good summer treat as Ford is simply incredible as an adventurer with his lots of impressive stunt work. Here a point worth noting is that Harrison Ford has performed many of his own stunts during the shoot. Everything is bigger and better than before, the action is first class coupled with a thorough and exciting plot. To add on, the movie features a dazzling cast involving Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, Karen Allen, Ray Winstone, John Hurt, Oscar winner Jim Broadbent,  Shia LaBeouf and significant others. Marketing for this movie will rely heavily on the nostalgia for the series with products taking inspiration from all four films in the series.

The thrill, excitement, humor, action and the romance, the hat, the whip --everything you love about Indy is packed in here! This is a tale sure to please and delight longtime fans as well as foster a whole generation of new ones!
