Casino Royale

Welcome back, Mr Bond. James Bond. I reached for the movie two minutes too late. As my husband was busy buying popcorn, I blamed him and stuck to my corner of the seat, upset. Please do not do that. Do not reach late for this particular movie and do not sit apart from you partner. The movie begins in black and white. Five to ten minute into the film as the casting starts, bright colours flow in. You sit erect on your seat, popcorn forgotten and realise, this is no ordinary film. A Bond flick.
I had seen the Timothy Diltons version of Casino Royale on TV and pretty much knew
Bond is different here. Remember this is the beginning for him. Here he is learning and Judith Dench as M is his teacher. Their love hate relation finds its footing here. 007 is assigned a job which he goofs up and is almost left with out one. But he tries to win the money gambled in order to fund terrorism. The action we saw in the trailer of DHOOM 2 during interval pales in front of the sequence where Bond tries to stop a bomber.
Daniel Craig has the gravity of Sean connery and the appeal of Roger moore. He fits like a glove tailor made for him. I quite liked the scene where Daniel craig and Eva green chose party wear for each other. Daniel has blue eyes that melts your heart and freezes his enemies. He also has perpetual pout that could give Angelina jolie a complex.
Eva green as Vesper Lynd is soft and strong. When she is required to act seductive she tries to do exactly that. You can see her effort along with the result. Her role is multi faceted. Well Done! Martin Campbell. A new era has begun, lets celebrate with a Vodka martini, shaken or stirred who cares?

 

 

Plus Points: Daniel criag, Eva green, Judith Dench and all other supporting cast.

 

Minus Points: Not much
