Don't Stop Dreaming

A number of record labels, multi-million selling artists and path breaking albums in the last three decades have seen Birmingham become the international Asian pop capital of the world.

Set in the heart of the city, Don't Stop Dreaming is a heart warming comedy that charts the rise of a multicultural urban music band.

Brought together and managed by Gabby, a feisty female vocalist, the group of misfits come together to create a musical vibe fusing the east with the west.

Desperate to escape their monotonous jobs, these would-be pop stars go against convention and wishes of their parents with the sole purpose of making it at the top.

The band members include Channi, an obnoxious alcoholic lead singer who is a street sweeper by day. Jimmy, a Jamaican who is obsessed with Elvis. He leaves his job at the sound equipment store to join the band as the lead guitarist. There is also the cross dressing Chinese drummer named Bobby.

Other band members include waitresses who leave their jobs to become backing singers in the band.

A white guitar playing hippy named Shani, who is more in touch with Indian culture than anyone else and a bank robber named Lucky, who is on the run from his former bosses.

Will these would-be pop idols make it? Do they stick together? Will their parents permit them to remain in this business? This comedy has all the answers.
