Spiderman DOES NOT Rock, he does rock-n-roll though!! When I, or for that matter anyone, heard Spidey is coming to town, all I wanted to do was, watch it. ASAP. What does one expect from a Spiderman movie? A little bit of MJ, a nasty villain and some serious kick-ass action!! But what we do get from this one is a lot of MJ, who could have easily played a BIG sister role if Peter would have had one, good-turned-bad-turned-good villains, hardly any action, and loads of melodrama!! And to top it all, it is over 2.5 hours long!!
Continuing from the second part, the movie has Peter Parker and MJ in love and the begrudged Harry having taken over from his father, the garb, the attitude, the paraphernalia et al. Then there is the clichd mishap in an experiment giving birth to sand man. The run-away convict also happens to have killed Peter Parkers uncle in the first movie, and dont confuse him with the guy who died in the first part, because they are different people. Adding spice to the otherwise bland movie is a slimy gluey substance which enhances the feelings of its habitat namely Spidey and also a jealous boy-friend and photographer.
Dont think that there isnt anything to watch out for, because there are some good actions scenes with Harry on his flying saucer and some really good (read funny and hilarious) dance sequences. The movie definitely supersedes the older ones in terms of the special effects and may be humor. If you are a Spidey fan I dont have much doubt that you will watch it anyway, just try and curtail the inevitable expectations.
