Featured Wall-E Movie Review

by Sulekha.com Movies

One might not be quite as spirited about viewing Wall-E as they undoubtedly were for most of Pixar's past hits Finding Nemo, Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Monsters Inc, the Incredibles or even Cars. But Pixar knows its audience well and hasn't disappointed them yet keeping in mind the success of all the movies listed above. Wall-E is an incredibly moving, imaginative, intelligent and the must-watch movie of 2008.

Here is a quick look. In the not so distant future humans have quite literally trashed the planet and made it uninhabitable. The plants are dead and are buried under miles of garbage. The humans have fled in luxurious spaceships where their every whim is satisfied by robots. After several hundreds of years in space the humans turn lazy and are devolved to the point of being fat marshmallows.

Back on Earth, WALL-E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) goes about his lonely job of compacting trash for which he was built and programmed. He was inadvertently left turned on when everyone took off, so he goes about his work each and every day with only his faithful cockroach companion. But Wall-E's life changes when a huge spaceship drops off a second robot, EVE (Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator), and teases our hero with the potential of friendship. And this is where the story takes off.

Wall-E is a comedy ride that takes us through the lesson of what Earth will turn into a hundred years from now if mankind fails to live in balance with the planet, its resources and placing over-reliance on technology. Great storytelling, amazing digitally animated worlds and characters, biting commentary and endless imagination is what Wall-E is all about - everything that we expect in a Pixar film is displayed here.

Pixar’s most accomplished and absorbing film, which will leave audiences begging for more and will make them go for it a second time!
