Those who keep on sulking about majority-minority issue, ought to watch 1947(Earth).This is a saga that depicts turbulent times, when friends often turn into foes. It is a saga of laypersons ,who have to pay with their lives, dignity and livelihood in the communal rage.
This movie is not recommended for faint hearted or armschair critics ,but only open minded liberals can understand it's gripping story line.
Not one but each one of it's different characters prove his or her mettle!
One must praise Aamir,Rahul Khanna, Nandita Das, Kittu Gidwani and Raghuvir Yadav, Kulbhushan Karbanda,Pawan Malhotra and Arif Zakaria for their stellar performances.
One would be compelled to praise the girl ,who played Lenny
Kudos to Bapsi Sidhwa , the writer and Deepa Mehta , the director who showcased the brutal side of communal voilence!
This movie sensitises us to the grim sitaution faced by laypersons, who donot have any one to take care of themselves!
Who know,some one who claims to be a hardliner changes his or her mnd after watching this autobiographical account of a learned writer!
