Aaja Nachle is for those who are mad-mad-mad about madhuri. She occupies virtually every frame of the movie. Clearly, the movie is conceived, written & directed for Madhuri. She is the hero & the heroine of the film. And honestly, having a hero in the film would have marred the intent or the message that the film wants to convey. Madhuri is normally famous for her Indian & Bollywood dance numbers. But the opening western dance piece by Madhuri breaks this myth. The way she gyrates to western beats is simply breath taking. Here is an actress in her 40’s who can give the current bollywood heroines/ dancers a run for their money. The story is about a Dia, a small town girl who has learnt dancing from her Guru. Fate takes her to New York where she becomes a dance instructor. Eleven years later, the same fate beckons her to her small town Shamli. She has to fulfill her revered Guru’s last wish. How she motivates & teaches the simpletons of the village to dance forms the cruz of the film. The finale – A Laila-Majnu dance drama tugs at your heart & almost makes you shed a tear or two. Well, on second thoughts, the movie is not only for those who are mad-about-madhuri. It is also for those who are not yet mad-about madhuri !!! Worth a watch --- atleast ONCE !
