I
have seen 4 movies in the last 2 weeks ....one of which was great, one
a sad but tolerable rip off of three man and a baby, in one i enjoyed
the popcorn better (at Inox .. you should never miss the popcorn!) and
to top it up .. I watched Kaushik Roy's "Apna Asman " ....
Reminded me of a shirt story I read as a part of my school text "The Enormous Radio" ..
where something does wrong and the radio starts picking up sounds from
all over the neighbourhood .. the lady of the house becomes obsessed ..
she digs into other people lives .. Realising how people wear a mask
... and nothing is as perfect as she sees things to be .... In the end
. the radio is fixed but her live isn't! She is left unhappy and her
rather perfectly staged life shattered down as her mask is also ripped
off !! ..
Rahul Bose's "EveryBody say's I am fine "
is also on similar lines ... where the story reveals how everybody
isn't fine . Here again the polished hair stylist can read minds ones
he starts cuting their hair .... He has issues in his own life and the
movie takes us through his journey ...
I was reminded of this
story and the film because of its unnatural element .. namely the
radio, the mind reading ability and the super formula in "apna asmaan"
.. Both you and I know its bazzare .. It isn't Possible!! but that is
the best tool the director / author has to convey and show us both the
sides of a coin .. to discrib the WHAT IF factor!!! (Hope I have
justified the weird angle ..)
Now coming to this movie .. said .. "Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself."...
the way parents long for the success and achievements of their children
.. sometimes trying to accomplish what they couldn't in life ..
sometimes ignoring what the child really wants !!! .. Basically the
movie is all about accepting a loved one as he/she is .... and that at
the end of the day success and fame is immaterial all you need to /
want your child to be is a good human being !!
I ll quote .. be
careful of what you dream for it might come true.... It ha a very
strong message to convey .. It is not only for a autistic child but for any other normal child as well (definitely toned down in a few degree s from its extremities ).
Acting .. well I ll give it an applause for sure ..
