Apna Sapna Money Money

I saw the movie yesterday with APNA MONEY. It is a good movie if u have the innocence of a child and a bad one if you have the intelligence of adult. But for me it was paisa vassol in non-INOX and non-ADLABS theatre.

The story, whatever there is, involves two cousins Arjun (Shreyas Talpade) a Christian and Kishan (a conman). Cross cultural names I suppose. Kishan Loves Shivani (Rima Sen) daughter of a Brahmin Shastri (Anupum Kher) and she loves him.

Ritesh is the one Kishan fall backs upon to make this happen. And he makes it happen but after a long drama involving Khukri wielding gang of Chunky Pandey and Don from Bangkok Carlos (Jackie Shroff). Sanya (Celina Jaitely) is the moll of Carlos, who is to bring the diamonds worth 50 crores from Goa to Bangkok.


The hell breaks loose when Inspector Namane (Suniel Shetty), a honest and never successful cops drops in to spoil the show. Sanya has to hide the diamonds in the sandals in the bag of Kishan who is impersonating Banaraswale, the father of the prospective boy for Shivani. Kishan is on the run from Chunky.

Julie (Koena Mitra) has given dollops of Item numbers in the movie and falls in love with Kishan during his first stay with Arjun. Kishan is forced to come back, this time in the garb of Sunayana Sanya for short hiding from Chunky Pandey and his gang. He (She infact) is enticed by Anupum Kher who is a widower. The confusion between the two Sanyas now adds to the fun.

A story of flower vendor daughter having a serious heart ailment is put in to add tragedy in the melodrama. The diamonds finally fall into the right hands of law except for one, which is lifted off by Kishann, this time not for himself but for the little flower girl in distress. Arjun weds Shivani, Sanya finds police and Julie meets Kishan in the drama with happy ending. Ritesh Deshmukh in the role of Sanya is seducing and convincing.
All in all a LCE - light commercial entertainer. The music and songs are a cropper except for the visual delights of the item Numbers.

 

 

Plus Points: Good and light comedy. No need to stress the grey cells. Resonable fast paced. Good item Numbers. Ritesh good in female role too.
