The super-hit team of APD is back with DHP
Which include A-listing stars like Akshay, Suneil, Shahid, paresh.etc
The film starts off with Vivek Oberoi acting as a sutradhar narrating the story which is a unique way to start a hindi film
The first half has many hilarious moments like Akshay's introduction and his deal with Shahid and Johny followed by Akki's scenes with Vijay Raaz from where Akki sets foot in dubai and others
Suneil's and Paresh's introductions and their scenes are also funny,even the dogs portion with Akki is funny infact the first half is outstanding
The second half too starts off as a comedy but turns into a romantic film after some time but still here too there are many funny scenes like akki discovering Paresh's and SUneil's truth, Shahid's scene with the dog to the scene wherein Rimii gets kidnapped
The climax with loads of action is entertaining too and the last scene is funny too
Vikram Bhatt earlier did a comedy APD here he goes steps ahead, the film has a larger canvas and the situations are funnier,
Music gels well with the mood of the film, Of the lot CHAKLE CHAKLE, MERE JAANE JIGAR & AISI UMAR MEIN are the best
Screenplay is a highpoint, the film has many comic situations which bring the house down
Dialogues too gel well with the mood of the film
Acting is another plus point
Akshay Kumar steals the show yet again after GARAM MASALA & INSAN. the actor is in form yet again
proving that he has emerged as one of the best comedians
Shahid Kapoor springs a surprise, he mostly copies SRK but this time for a change his acting is original
He underplays his part well, he plays the typical loverboy type of a role and does a brilliant job
Suneil Shetty is excellent too, it's good to see him try out different roles that are in contrast to his action hero image
Rimii sen is competent
Paresh is brilliant as usual, ditto for Johny
Suresh Menon is truly funny, Vijay Raaz is brilliant too
Om Puri and the rest are superb

great music, outstanding first half

 

Minus Points: Defies logic, tends to get slow at times
