Comparing GOAL with the recent Sports based movies (Chak De India, Iqbal, Lagaan) is bound to happen. GOAL is a mix of all the three...and the result is a mish-mash. Very average. The story goes like this- The southhall footbal team are the underdogs & they haven't won a match since umpteen years. They need to win the match else their football club has eager real-estate buyers who are waiting to grab the club land and build a mall out there. How they struggle & eventually win the match is what the story is all about. Average performances. John Abraham looks cool in his new hair cut. Performances of Arshad Warsi, Bips, Boman Irani are all so-so.....I would give the movie 6/10.
