Eklavya The Royal Guard

Watched Eklavya a very short movie compared to normal Hindi movies about 2 hours something.

Interesting concept and whole slew of bollywood top honchos filling up every role in the movie. Only actor who could be categorized as a character actor is Parikshit Sahani other than that every character is or was a top bollywood hero. For example the Role Jackie shroff enacts is the kind you would expect to be thrown in Gulshan Grovers lap.

The story is about a royal guard who does a lot more than guarding the palace and the Rana. There is a secret and it is revealed with in 15 minutes of the movies start. The movie could have been of palace intrigues and suspense but sadly the story is told in a very straight forward manner. If drama was to be the movies focal point sadly it is not able to reach that crescendo.

The photography is excellent , the desert and the palace are beautifully shot. I also thought the camel scene where in the only action in movie takes place is well depicted on the screen.

It is a timepass movie for good direction and some great acting; now if only we had a little more story...
