Jodhaa Akbar

Sheer Dissapointment!!

That is what I get after watching this so called 'epic movie'. It took so long for Gowariker to release the movie- he might as well have fine-tuned it to not be considered a complete HAM...especially for people who do know a fact or two about Akbar from their researches.
The movie shows a hip and happenin' 'Re-take' Roshan struggling to fit into a historical role, bless him; the poor guy tried his best but did not quite make it to being compared to the likeness of Prithviraj Kapoor (he was THE Akbar of Bollywood). All in all, a good effort by Hrithik for a role that did not quite suit him.
As for Mrs. Aiswarya Rai Bachchan, I found it hard to believe that she was trying to be the fiesty rani Jodhaa bai....just plain old BAI... guess she should've tried harder to atleast reach the level of a Rajput Bai, what say?

All in all, the sideys played their role exceptionally well- esp the durban who yelled out on the arrival of His Majesty and the Bai... couldn't stop laughing when he did that.

One thing's for sure, I am not gonna get my hopes high on Gowarikar's next!!
