Johnny Gaddaar is one of the rarities in the Hindi Cinema. A taut thriller with no nonsense, no social or patriotic message and of course, no dancing around the trees!
The movie is about a gang of 5 (led by Dharamendra) going in for a deal worth 2.5 crores. One of the gang members, Neil Mukesh (yes, he is the grandson of the Mukesh) gets greedy abd double crosses his group to pouch the whole amount. What happens next is what the film is all about.
The film is very intelligently made with not a single scene without relevance to the whole story. Screenplay is fast paced and keeps you on the edge. Acting is natural. Songs are non-existenat (thank God for that).
Look out for the little clues that give you an idea of whats coming next in the movie. Don't be hard on yourself if you miss them in the first cut.
Movie runs for about 2 hours 15 minutes but is, to the end, edge-of-the-seat thriller.
Highly recommended if you want to see a genuine thriller.
