Karan Johar claimed that he wanted to show that one should marry for love and not for anything else. That will ensure a healthy marriage. But both the couples we see in the movie did marry for love in the first place. At least the spouses who got a raw deal did love their partners. They tried their level best to make their marriage work. I didn't understand what KJ was trying to preach in the movie. You can marry, have children and then if you get bored in your marriage or suffer from low self esteem, low self worth or self hatred, you can go and sleep with other people? You don't need to worry about the loved ones that you are hurting and your children who's lives you are ruining in the process? And KJ is glorifying this act of irresposibility and selfishness by ending the movie in a happily ever after note? Well knowing the history of the characters played by SRK and Rani, they will cheat on each after a few years. Because they will still suffer from low self esteem and self hatred! How is that true love? When sone one has the opportunity to influence a large number of people through the message he sends through a movie, a director should do it responsibly. People might get the wrong idea, and innocent people might get hurt!
