KKG (that acronym may make this movie sound like something from the Johar-Chopra stable, but fortunately it is not) is a simple movie. KKG is a good movie. KKG is real. If you like watching films that are real, good and simple, then go watch this one.

This movie will take you through the real world of a common man in a middle-class family of India, a world where circumstances can often make you helpless, defeated and compromising. It will then also take you through a world of hope, fight-back and victory that may look unreal - until you recognize that it is just the answer to the real world.

K K Khosla (Anupam Kher), from the 'service-class' and just a year away from retirement, is excited about a plot of land which he wants to buy, to build a spacious house for his family. His family, comprising of his wife, 2 sons and a daughter, unfortunately does not share his enthusiasm about this project of his. His educated son wants to move to the US for a "better" job. Add to this, a 'kabja' (illegal occupation) of the plot that he bought with his hard earned money, by Khurana (Boman Irani) who runs a land mafia. Khosla runs pillar to post to get his due - police, lawyers, politicians, NGOs, everywhere - but gets only disappointment and the only solution available to him seems to be to buy back his own land! That he does...but how...is what the story is about.
A clean-tight script, fresh direction and amazing performances makes this movie a great one to watch, and to take back home in your mind. Great comic sequences lighten up a story based on a serious theme (e.g. the dialogue "yahaan pe hum peshaab karne aayen hain kya" in the sequence where the family discovers that the plot of land has been captured). Music is different, likeable, with excellent lyrics..subtly placed (in the background) at very important moments of the film.
You always expect great performances from actors like Anupam Kher and Boman Irani and thanks to the script and the producers/director for giving these stalwarts an opportunity to meet and exceed those expectations. These two actors give amazing performance in this movie, and Dabbas and Vinay Pathak are not far behind. The surpise package though is Ranveer, who with his very interesting performance will definitely get noticed and appreciated by many people. Tara Sharma has given an excellent performance as well, probably her best.
A brilliant film, that should be fairly successful as well, through word-of-mouth publicity.
