Lagaan

In my opinion, LAGAAN stands out as the best film from the plethora of movies that I have seen. Bhuvan(Aamir khan), unable to bear the unfair tax imposed on the villagers, decides to stand against the might of the british empire. The officer-in-charge of the champaner district says he will cancel the tax for three years if bhuvan and his men can beat his officers in a game of cricket! Bhuvan accepts the challenge but finds no support initially. He convinces others using his wit, humor and harsh-reality to join him and unite against the british. Ultimately they win and this sparks wild celebrations. This movie takes you through all sorts of emotions and hence is a must watch film, for every indian especially!
