J.P.Dutta has attempted war films earlier since KSHATRIYA(1992) and BORDER(1997)
this time too he tells a story of soldiers but it's too late now, such films don't get preference this days
The film has the biggest starcast together
say totally 30 heroes and some heroines
the heroes have many A-listing names like Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Abhishek bachchan, SUneil Shetty & heroines like Kareena Kapoor, Esha Deol.etc
the film has a duration of 4 hrs and hence becomes boring later
but they are many sequences which have the J.P.DUtta stamp
The scenes between Ashutosh and Manoj are likeable and provide relief, the shooting scenes are handled with care,
Music(Anu Malik) lacks a hit musical score but a few songs are wonderful, only there are 2 many songs in the second half
J.P.DUtta's storytelling is brilliant, but he should've given equal footage to all the stars
some actors are wasted
CInematography is brilliant
Dialogues are brilliant too
the film has the biggest starcast of indian cinema yet
but only Ajay Devgan, Abhishek, Saif Ali Khan & Manoj Bajpai get the meatiest roles and they are brilliant
Ajay Devgan gets into the skin of the character and delivers a awardworthy performance again
Abhishek bachchan is likeable yet again,
Saif Ali Khan is improving a great deal with every film, he stands on his own even though pitted against such a big cast
Manoj is brilliant and his camaradie with ashutosh is noteworthy
Sanjay Dutt's role lacks meat but he is okay, Suneil SHetty is releageted to the backseat
Akshaye Khanna is as usual
AMongst heroines
Kareena, Esha stand out
the rest are wasted
