Featured Love Story 2050 Movie Review

by hazel2809

Love Story 2050,  touted as science fiction love story, gives a glimpse of life and love in 2050. Harry Baweja’s vision of 2050 looks rather garish and metallic!

When everything is the world is rapidly shrinking from mini to micro to nano, this sci-fi thriller seems to go on & on…. ! Is this how movies will be in 2050?

Harman Baweja …has a striking semblance to Hrithik. He dances well but lacks the zing in acting. Priyanka Chopra looks stunning and cute.

The music of the film is forgettable, with songs like “Hey you, lover boy, will you be my toy?” (sic !)

The first half of the movie ambles like a typical love story. Rich & lonely Karan (Harman) falls in love with sweet and simple Sanaa (Priyanka). They sneak into Karan’s Scientist Uncle’s laboratory, who is inventing a time machine. They decide to fiddle with the time machine and venture on a journey in 2050. Bust Scientist Uncle (Boman Irani)  intervenes and aborts their journey mid-way. Sana dies in a road accident the very same day, leaving lover boy Karan heart-broken. So, scientist uncle, Karan & Sana’s brother-sister, board the time machine and embark on journey to 2050, to search and bring back their beloved Sanaa.

Circa-2050 : Sanaa is now re-incarnated as singing sensation Zeisha, who lives with her pet robot named Boo (Is that supposed to be a cool name?). She gets up early in the morning and says, “I feel like … pink”. And voila…her room turns pink ! The second half of the movie is rather fascinating. Flying cars, classy bikes, hi-tech gadgets, mid-air stage shows, intelligent robots, clones, beautiful shell houses, virtual 3D-advertisements, hi-tech paanwallas…. and in the midst of all this are our familiar brands like CEAT, Tata Indicom and Lux!

Honestly, Mumbai in 2050 looks far more interesting than knowing the fate of this long drawn (yawn!)) prem kahaani.
