Fine!first let me tell u, this is one of the best SRK's films i have seen? not the best because of his role, it maybe what he has done earlier but his maturity he brought was tremendous more on it later
The film MAIN HOON NAA directed by FARAH KHAN is a homage to films made in the 70's and 80's
references to SHOLAY and other classics are evident
Even the over-the-top action scene with the cycle rickshaw is to give homage to SHolay Basanti's dhano
The film starts off well and the college scenes are funny, even though the YAshchopra heroine, Srk's antics front of Sush, may jar still it is funny and entertaining
Zayed's attitude in the first half is funny too and the scenes betn Satish Shah, Boman and him are hilarious nonetheless
but the action scenes inspired by Matrix and executed by ALLAN AMIN our hollywood wannabe action director are totally fake and bakwaas
even the film gets lengthy, the first half is more on fun with suneil's scenes in betn and a few flashback scenes which are serious but the second half starts off weakly with the story stagnating but with Suneil entering the frame the film picks up, the pre-climax scene is brilliant betn SRK and SUneil
but the climax, the fight betn Suneil and SRK looks jarring , even the blasting of the building
Nonetheless Farah Khan is a director to watch, she handles the film well without resorting to melodrama
the best art if the emotional scenes, but the length is too much, still she hasn't only concentrated on SRK throughout, Zayed and SUneil too get ample footage
though suneil is relagated to the backseat at times
what is the jarring is that she tries to pay homage to college students, with zayed's hair, clothes and many other weird characters, but thatz pardonable
only i hope she doesn't try a similar film next time and shows her versatility
Music is good, all songs are nice
SRK gets to do everything, he gets to act crazy and mature too but he is the best in the scenes that demand dramatics, in which he doesn't act like a clown
i prefer this film over his other monkey antics like films, i'm ready to forgive his crazyiness with Sushmita because overall he does well and underplays his part most of the times
Zayed is a true SRK wannabe, his style, his awkwardness, but his body lang and dialect in the first half and his outburst scene is brilliant
Suneil Shetty underplays his part well, bringing his character to live, but he gets relegated to the backseat many times
Amrita rao though remindind us of Mahima does well in her part
Sushmita is a true Yash chopra heroine but she does her part with style,
farah Khan had to give her a meatier role not a crazy 1 like this though
AMongst rest
Kirron Kher is her usual dependable self, ditto for Nasseer, Kabir Bedi and others
Murli Sharma is worth a mention ditto for Rakhi Sawant
but why such skimpy clothes?
the film is overrated no doubt by others
bt on the whole it is okay
Plus Points: farah's direction, entertaining, performances, emotional scenes
Minus Points: tends to get lengthy, overdone special effects and action scenes,
