Nice try, i'll say.

I read long back that there are two basic distinctions to a comedy. "Situational" comedy and "Dialogue" generated comedy and this movie falls under the former category. Funny situations arising out of child-kidnapping, in-experience of the "team" involved, and sarcasm on the mumbai social scene tries to make you laugh. They do succeed to some extent.

But, hey presence of Kamal Hasan in any movie raises your expectations to "Pushpak" levels, and this one isnt no where closer to that.

First half of the movie is dominated by superb performance by VijayRaj (in hindi version). He isnt getting much attention till now, but his performance as the gang leader leading a failing kidnapping operation, tickles your ribs.

Ramesh Arvind brings in some humour by incorporating insurance industry jargons into kidnapping business. Things sure are getting hi-tech nowadays :D

Manisha plays a "keep" , who is aware of her social status and acts well, brings out her emotions well enough to connect with audience.

All in all, i would say, watch it on a VCD.
