Featured No Smoking Movie Review

K for Kafka and K for King(Stephen that is).What is no smoking all about? It is about lifting a darkly comic Stephen King story called Quitters Inc. and trying to give it Kafkasque dimensions and ending up with a disaster.

The Stephen King story's idea is original, funny and at the same time scary. What will happen if Cosa Nostra decides to stop people from smoking? Of course the Mafia is not doing any social service but turns it into a business using heavy arm tactics including violence and mutilationof near and dear ones to make people whohave signed up with its anti-smoking programme togive up the habit. and sending a hefty bill to their customers (victims?) once they successfully complete the programme.

Replacethe mafia guy in the story with a Bengali Baba and K (see the Kafkasque touch?) alias John Abraham is theguy who wants to give up the habit. You end up getting treated to a lot of what the directorprobably believes to be surrealistic scenes.

John Abraham is an actor whose facial expression does not go bezond an open

mouthed eye-popping look besides a toothy grin.Anurag Kashyap probably believes that somebody has cast an evil eye after Black Friday and he has made this piece of crap to ward off the evil eye.

Stay miles away from the cinema showing this piece of rubbish. What a waste of talents like Paresh Rawal and Ravir Sheorey!

Dont bother to watch this evenon pirated video. If youare a Stephen King fan, write a letter to him complaining how his story has been lifted without permission and mauled.

If you want to watch a film on no-smoking go for the Saif-Boman episode from Darna Mana Hai any time.
