Om Shanti Om

    The film had been hyped a lot in the media ... and the
film doesnot enough stuff to justify  its much hype. 

The Film is about the reincarnation saga of "Om
Prakash" who is a junior artiste in the Bollywood, 30
years before the present date. He falls deeply in love
with then reigning heartthrob actress "shanti priya".
During a particular film's shooting, Shanti Priya gets
stuck in a fire, and nobody dares to brave the fire to
save her. But, Om Prakash, who acts as a junior actor
in the shooting, puts his life in danger and saves
Shanti. Then begins - "Friendship" in the eyes of
Shanti and "Love" in the eyes of Om Prakash. But, for
his dismay, Om Prakash finds that Shanti is having an
affair with then top producer, who inturn views his
career as more important than marrying Shanti, who is
pregnant with his child. The producer then plans and
sets fire to the setting which is supposed to make a
film with Shanti called "Om Shanti Om". Om Prakash
happens to see the things done by the producer, to his
sweetheart, and tries to save her, but both die ... to
be reborn. Om Prakash is reborn in a "kapoor" family
and Shanti in bangalore.

As the film proceeds, Om Prakash start remembering his
past birth incidents, and on encountering the
"Producer", who returns from the Hollywood, decides to
take revenge for what he has done to him and his
sweetheart. While searching for the actress of "Om
Shanti Om", which was abandoned after the death of
Shanti 30 years ago, and being started by the "Kapoor"
to take a revenge on the producer, he meets "Shanti"
who is reborn.

Then the usual story of "Bhoot" tactics he applies to
scare the producer to admit his faults ... but in the
end ... the real "Bhoot" of Shanti appears and finally
settles the score.

This is the story. I wonder why this film is being
made now ... at this era of action movies ... glamour
girls  ... college love stories ... and particularly
after a somewhat realistic film of SRK "Chak De
India", such a story is really disappointing. And to
add it with the supposed "comic" scenes imitating
previous actors in bollywood ... though fits 
perfectly in the script book ... and you seem to smile
somewhat at those scenes ... but  after sometime you
realise that the whole film is made without proper
reason ... Manmohan Desai is a genius and trying to
imitate him in "kuch bhi ho sakta hai" is just a
waste.

Dear SRK and Farah Khan ... the film is really
dissappointing ...

Now talking about Deepika Padukone. She looked
gorgeous whe she faced the media, and when i saw her
on the cricket field with SRK promoting his film. But
in the movie ... some how i was not "mesmerised" to
the extent i expected i would before watching the
movie ( i wonder what dhoni might have thought after
watching the movie about her !!!!!). She just doesnt
know acting ... and she is just a kid ... and being a
typical south indian ... she just doesnt know how to
deliver hindi dailogues. She is just like an unripe
banana or a guava ... and i think with some experiance
in the film industry ( if she suceeds in getting more
film offers ... just cosidering her "model" beauty !)
she might become better.
