This one is a good remake. Yes, you heard me right; its a Remake! But Bollywood has no older version of Partner like Don or Sholay, so how can this flick by David Dhawan be a remake? Well, Hollywood does have that older version and its named Hitch.

If you have watched Hitch, then you are probably not going to enjoy this one that much. Everything from core concept to scenes, dialogues and even locations are the same as in the Hollywood blockbuster. Salman Khan replaces Will Smith, Govinda is replacing Kevin James. The gorgeous society heiress is being played by Katrina Kaif (replacing supermodel Amber Valletta), and Lara dutta, who replaces Eva Mendes is the Tabloid columnist.

I have intentionally used the word replaced instead of saying Slaman played Will Smith. That is because he never played him, but he has very efficiently played the character of Prem, the Mumbai Loveguru. Love is his job and he will get you the girl of your dreams, guaranteed. And this what he does for Bhaskar Divakar Choudhary (Govinda), who has fortunately or unfortunately fallen in love with his charming boss Priya (Katrina). And Naina is a tabloid columnist and true love of the love guru. However, when she decides to uncover love guru under the impression that he is helping guys to realize some one night stands, discovers that its her own Mr. Right who is on the job. And with a front page exposure on success of Bhaskar with Priya, it is the job of Prem to try and save the relationship.

Despite the fact that this is a remake, there is good amount of originality in the movie. Typical Bollywood ishtyle comedy, the age old plot of father not agreeing to the choice of his daughter and not to mention the child Rohan, who plays mediator in all the love stories going around him. And thanks to David, I discovered that fully operational, sound guided cruise rocket; capable of blasting a water scooter is available in the market as toy for your children.

On the whole the movie is gives you good laughs, and If you havent seen the original, you will enjoy it much more. Definitely a must once watch. The movie is well customized for Indian audience and is much better to watch than watching Hitch dubbed in Hindi. There will be moments when it seems a little stretched out and some overacting by Govinda. But the stupidity and idiocy in his character makes it all acceptable. The songs are very good and have plus point to the movie.
