Shararat Movie Review (1 Reviews)

moviemagik.tripod.com/bollywood: To be frank, Abhishek Bachchan's new movie, SHARARAT has one of the most different and interesting of storylines that one comes across in Bollywood films of late. Well, the story is basically of a fun-loving freak Rahul (Abhishek) who loves to get in and out of trouble at the drop of a hat. Thus as the title suggests, SHARARAT is his fave past time. But one mischief proves to be costly as he is forced to stay at an old age home for the next thirty days. So our young Rahul ends up in ASHIYAANA, the home for the old age and it is here he comes across various interesting characters. To begin with we have the authoritative leader of the old guys, Prajapati (Amrish Puri). The rest of the oldies includes a caring and loving Anuradha Mathur (Helen), a forgetful Saifuddin (Tinnu Anand), the Gujral couple (Dara Singh and Daisy Irani), and A.K. Hangal as Gajanan Desai. Anyhow, the thirty days ends up being an eye opener for our young man and it changes his life forever...newcomer Hrishitaa Bhatt shall play the role of Neha, Rahul's love interest.

mytorontoguru: Everything was perfect in Rahul's (Abhishek Bachchan) life. The only son of his rich parent's (Navni Parihar, Romesh Sharma) who never said no to him or he made sure they didn't! Rahul was eagerly awaiting his first trip alone to USA when tragedy struck as he found himself in the midst of people who decided to make a 'better human being' out of him. The players of the conspiracy-a culture junkie DCP Bhosle, (Om Puri), who pinned every problem on the advent of foreign television in India, a judge K.R.P Murthy, (Anjan Shrivastava), who secretly desired recognition for his long service without a single holiday and a cub reporter Neha Sengupta (Hrishitaa Bhatt), who aspired to bring about the change in the entire judiciary system! But that was not all, his own loving parents agreed that Rahul needed to change. Nothing in his life had prepared Rahul for what was going to happen to him when he landed in an old age home, Ashiyana. But that wasn't all. Rahul was forced to share a room with a 'crazy' old man, Prajapati, (Amrish Puri)...How does Rahul react to these changed circumstances and how it affect his outlook on life form the rest of the story of the film.

indiainfo: Shararat is a lighthearted, emotional film that deals with the importance of a family and keeping it together. It is a story of Rahul (Abhishek Bachchan). His one prank changes his life forever and he is punished as a result of which he is asked to serve the inmates of an old age home for a month. The inmates are played by Amrish Puri, Helen, A.K. Hangal, Dara Singh, Daisy Irani, Viju Khote, Shubha Khote, Tinu Anand, K.D. Chandran and Pratap Oza. Neha Sengupta (Hrishita Bhatt), a young aspiring journalist, follows Rahul to the old age home to document his transformation. She also gets to like him, as she gets to know him better. Shararat is the story of Ashiyana- A home away from Home and is a tribute to parents without whose constant care one cannot survive even an hour in this world!
