Shootout at Lokhandwala Movie Review (25 Reviews)
"Shootout at Lokhandwala" is a painful, me-too Mumbai gangster flick that tries to succeed with high-powered star cast, lots of style and swagger, ceaseless shooting...all without a meaningful script.
The biggest problem with many expensive Bollywood movies is the scant attention paid to the story. This movies has no story...it is an episode of a shootout between cops and thugs...yes, you got that right, in Lokhandwala.
The film revolves around a SWAT team in Bombay that fights underworld dons. And the highlight of the movie is an encounter where the crack team of cops guns down one fellow who is fast rising through the ranks. That's it. That's all there is to the movie. The ethical question we are asked to wrestle with is whether encounter slayings are OK. Yes -- and the movie helps us -- they are OK. All is well with the world. Now you go home and sleep tight.
