Taxi Number 9211

Nana and John, unusual casting?I expected this film to be something different and yes different it was. Taxi No. 9211 doesn't give time and tested modus operandi, instead it rises up with an innovation to show.

The brains behind this elegantly made enterprise know what today's audiences want. So they have churned out Taxi No.9211 in an absolute sophisticated style giving it a treatment of class. A wacky movie, it walks with the city life of Mumbai. Two individuals bump into and get involved in an accident that changes their lives.

Raghav Shastri (Nana Patekar) is a short-tempered skeptic person. This attitude of his has made him change 23 jobs in 15 years. To the world he is an insurance salesman actually he is a cabbie who needs Rs. 30,000 to pay to the grocery man, his kid's school fees and the taxi owner.

Jai Mittal (John Abraham) is an heir to a rich business family. He has to prove his claim for Rs. 300 crores in court. His father has left a will that states that his loyal employee (Shivaji Satam) will get the whole money while Jai will not have a single penny. He fights to have the money and for this he has his girl friend's (Sameera Reddy) support.

Now it's his last chance to prove it today. To present the will to the court, he catches a cab to collect it from the locker. For the first time, Jai and Raghav meet each other. He asks Raghav (taxi driver) to drive the cab speedily to reach the court in time. And during this process, they meet with an accident. Jai realizes that he has lost the keys to the locker and it's with Raghav. He wants them back, but Raghav is not in the mood to return. From there, the cat and mouse game starts. Taxi No. 9211 works on almost every department of the film in particular the script, which is undoubtedly novel and gripping. The story has been told with perfection getting the viewers glued to their seats.

The script that is called the pillar of every movie is unblemished. Rajat Arrora has penned it very skillfully. Millan Luthria's direction is up-to-the mark and razor-sharp. He has executed the job stylishly and with conviction. The duo of Vishal-Shekhar has stockpiled the mesmerizing composition for the film album. Kartik Vijay does a fine job as a cinematographer. Abbas Ali Moghul deserves distinction marks for directing super stunts. Aarif Shaik is first rate, he has edited the film crisply.

Amongst the performers, Nana Patekar stands out with his usual brilliant performance. John Abraham delivers the goods on screen very smoothly. The actor is showing his class in every coming film.

Sonali Kulkarni enacts well. Sameera Reddy fails to register any impact on the moviegoers. She looks plumpy and needs to have a check on her body. She is dressed to kill the audience with her sexy outfits and curves. But she must understand the fact that in end, acting sells and not sex. Shivaji Sattam is just about okay.

In a capsule, Taxi No.9211 has novelty to offer to its audience. With the brilliant performers like Nana and John and the stylish execution of the film, Taxi No. 9211 will surely have huge business at the box office.
