Film Review
“U Me and Hum”
Kajol steals a show, but in background Ajay Devgan scores in directorial debut.
Movie belongs to both for one on screen and for other behind camera.
First half belongs to younger generation, second half for matured audience.
First half for boys. cheering up……. Second half for girls, hanky in hand.
Selection of such a plot by a debutante director is a bold step, worthy of praise. With real life couple working in it speaks volumes of daring Ajay Devgan showed.
With such thin story line, film could have gone either way, but Ajay’s handling is like a magic touch.
Kajol looks lovely in both sessions. She is the heart & soul of the movie.
Ajay’s role is complicated one, but he has done full justice and has brilliantly performed difficult scenes.
Supporting cast has important role to play. Apart from Ajay-Kajol, you will also see three other lovely couples in different shades, very well mixed up in movie, every one showed comic presence as well as maturity, which the roles demanded.
Story begins on cruise ship with Ajay and his three friends holidaying along with wives. Kajol is the waitress. Ajay kajol love story builds up there slowly and takes half the movie. They get married. Gradually but definitely new development goes on building like a slow poison; movie takes a turn here and keeps you guessing which way will it go?
Film belongs to sensitive audiences who see it with open heart, completely dissolved in happenings.
