On a rainy lazy evening, over drinks and dinner, inspector Robin (Vinay Pathak) narrates to his friends, a curious story from his police files.
The story goes like this – Newly married couple Ankur (Kay Kay Menon) and Rimli (Sonali Kulkarni) were on a honeymoon in Darjeeling. One day, Ankur had a tiff with the taxi driver for rash driving. The same evening, Ankur suddenly went missing. Investigations revealed that Ankur was short tempered and Rimli felt that some stranger was stalking her. Ankur could not be located and some days later, the case was closed abruptly...
This incomplete ambiguous story stimulates the group of friends and each one becomes Sherlock Homes! Perhaps Rimli was in love with the stranger and the two had ployed to kill Ankur. Or maybe Ankur was planning to kill Rimli with help of the stranger? Or perhaps the stranger wanted to kill Rimli as she had ditched him and married Ankur or …..perhaps the story narrated by Robin was fabricated ? What was the truth? Chances are that the audience will keep guessing even after the film ends ! 
Via Darjeeling is an off-beat experimental movie, recommended only for those who love this genre of cinema.
