Viruddh is another perfect example of an exemplary performance by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.

The Actor:

Big B excelled in each and every scene of the movie. The 'timid hubby' comedy, the family humor, those eyes (phew..he just does not need to speak anything anymore), the frustration, the anger, heartfelt emotions, the desparation. Big B rocked in every frame of the movie. He becomes Mr. Vidya Patwardhan.

Other Actors:

Sharmila Tagore was a revelation. It was great to see her chemistry with Mr. Bachchan. They should team up for some more movies. She fits real well as Mrs. Patwardhan or Sumi.

Anusha Dandekar - The script needed an actress with some 'vilayati' accent. Anusha has been born and bred in Australia and lived many years

there, she was a perfect choice to play the role of a half Indian, half British girl Jenny in Viruddh.

John Abraham - The actor does not go overboard in his acting and stays focussed. Another nice performance from John after Jism, and Dhoom.

Other Actors - Sanjay Dutt (Guest appearance), Sachin Khedekar, and others all got their respective time on screen. They were all good.

Plot:

The basic plot is simple. A happy family getting griefed due to the loss of their only son. How the family fights back against the corrupt system to clean the stain on their kid's name.

Plusses:

Big B at his another best. Chemistry between Big B and Sharmila Tagore. The quirky sweet intricacies in a regular happy family. No songs. 2 hrs 10 mins. An identifiable middle class story scenerio. Good direction overall by Mahesh Manjrekar.

Minusses:

None except the 'in the face' advertisements. Nerolac, Western Union, Elf Oil and many more. That could have been eliminated Mr. Manjrekar.

Recommendation:

Watch it. If you love good cinema.
