Yaadein

I think some of the reviews listed here are over reactions. Yaadein is not as bad as it has been painted out to be. At the same time, it's not as good as some of Mr. Ghai's earlier films ( I personally feel Saudagar ( minus the climax ) was his last good film ). Though Ghai is to be blamed for the liberty he has taken in peddling other products in his movie thus robbing it of it's seriousness, one can't hold him accountable for the high hopes some of the reviewers had on the movie. It makes me laugh when someone says things like "...the pain he has put me through"....what pain are you talking about ? You should have walked out of the theater if you hated it so much !

A lot of hype has been built around this movie mainly because of it's star cast. Hrithik and Kareena were signed for this movie before their debute films hit the screen. You can't expect Ghai to give them more footage or change their characters just because they are considered hot property now ! He dared to cast Jackie as the main character around who the whole film revolves. Take out the commercials and some absurd scenes and the movie really does have some steam ! Ghai needs to be patted on the back for not caring about star-charishma and sticking to what he had in mind ... but at the same time criticized for letting commercials and bad editing spoil the essence of the movie. But hey, no shoot at sight orders ! A guy has to be a moron to do that just because he didn't like a film .... Come on it's just a movie !

All in all, don't let film previews and press make you build high hopes on movies. Watch a movie like you are watching a movie !
