Yahaan got some good reviews in Indian press. Couple of english dailies nit picked certain things from the movie and called it amaturish. I found the movie to be moving and very well acted. There were no cartoonish characters, every character was essential. I didn't like that the director decided to use the blue hue through out the movie to either show coldness of the surrounding or coldness that terroism has brought to the people who inhabit the valley. Though they used lots of blue hues, the movies character has all the warmness one will accept from good etched characters. The kudos go to all the actors involved and to director Shoorjit Sircar. I hope he makes more movies like this. Minisha Lamba was great for her first movie. She looks innocent and someone who sees good in everyone. Jimmy Shergill gives another good performance since "hassil". I hope he gets his dues soon. Good actor compare to other crappy actors who get roles due to their family being part of the industry. Emraan Hashimi comes to mind and Zayed Khan is not far behind.
Anyway rent the movie for excellent story and wonderful execution.
Plus Points: Great direction and acting. Great story.
Minus Points: Over use of blue filter and the blue hues through out the movie
