Manasinakkare Movie Review (1 Reviews)
Satyan Anthikkad's Manasinakkare is a bitter and sweet sentimental story that will make you laugh and cry at the same time. The director has worked out pathos and humour in the right proportion and veteran actress Sheela has given an outstanding performance as Kochuthresia.

The rest of the cast like Jayaram, Innocent, newcomer Nayantara, Oduvil, KPAC Lalitha, Siddique and Nedumudi Venu- all are outstanding in their respective roles but are overshadowed by Sheela who raises a lump in your throat with her heartfelt performance.

Kochu Thresia (Sheela) is a daughter of the soil who has made a fortune by farming and lives a lonely life in a big bungalow. Her husband died a few years back and her children have abandoned her. Kochu Thresia is a 60 plus rich lonely lady who is jovial and talkative living in a huge farmhouse. Her neighbours Reji (Jayaram) and his father Chacko Mappila (Innocent) are hardworking and helpful. Thresia has everything but no one to love and care for her. Slowly Reji wins her over by his good nature and Thresia helps the father and son by solving their problems. She becomes very attached to them.

Thresia's son (Siddique) runs a toddy shop and the license is in his mother's name. Once when a person dies after drinking toddy, the court orders the licensee to pay Rs 10 lakhs as compensation to the dead man's family. None of her children come forward to bail her out and she decides to sell her bungalow and pay the money. Reji and his lover (Nayantara) along with his father not only helps her but takes the old lady and gives her shelter in their house. The cast also has Siddique, KPAC Lalitha, Nedumudi Venu and Oduvil Unnikrishnan.

The rest of the cast also have given an outstanding performance. New girl Nayantara shows promise. Azhakappan cranks the camera for the film. Music by Ilayaraja is good.
