Rowdram Movie Review (1 Reviews)

'Roudram', the action saga starring Mamootty is the new brick on the wall of cop movies. A complete adrenaline-boosting flick delivers the punch of an action movie with a knockout zest that just cannot be denied.

Renji Panicker's 'Roudram' is a film that could be laden by prejudices with regard to the kind of implications that it attempts to propagate. That it remains yet another entrant to the over popularized cop genre of films could not have helped much either. The film unleashes a tremendous fury that's all encompassing and doesn't offer you much occasion to reflect. In the flurry of events that come to light one will both, lose breath as well as flow along, overcome by the might of it all.

Narendran (Mammootty) plays an Assistant Commissioner, a suave officer, who lives up to his highly volatile reputation. Entrusted with the murder investigation of a local ganja dealer who was found run over by a truck, the head of bureaucracy sees it as an apt opportunity to settle a few long pending accounts with the narcotic mafia that has been wreaking havoc all over. Narendran gets into a fierce tussle with the tough villains Sethu (Sai Kumar) and Appachayi (Vijaya Raghavan), who are determined to see to it that justice does not prevail.

Starring opposite Mammootty is the charming Manju who does justice to her role, qualifying as Mammooty's best heroine in ages. Sai Kumar as the anti-hero deserves a special mention and does a truly remarkable performance.

Sanjeev Shankar's stunning cinematography can be easily assessed with the technical splendor throwing visual delights throughout the movie. Don Max has done phenomenally well with his smooth editing.

Renji's fiery script has all the customary ingredients of a powerful blast in ample doses although there are only few deviations from 'Thalasthanam' in design and pattern.

'Roudram' is terrifically imposing and it is impossible to disregard its splendid grandeur, incredible power and magnificent opulence.
