late Sixties and Seventies till middle eighties Indian cinema was a like a boieng 747 majestially cruiseing at 50,000 feet when suddenly it was hijacked by johny come lately producers, debunte and pubescent directors, Tree hopping and talentless actors and actresses who looked and acted like models. There ware few twinkling stars left over who hung on to charecter actors and they were not recognized since they had talent to offer and this was a taboo. There are few actors who can deliver a performance like Nana Patekar, he is the diamond in the ruff, as rare as a flawless diamomd. He style is simple in crafting like the late Rod Steiger in Dr.Zivago or even Omar Shariff in the same film. There was sense of pupose to their presence, they were good in what they did and loved their creative profession, but the generation that hijacked the "Indian cinema plane" have no moral or ethical duty to the industry. This will explain the steady descent of the plane and eventual crash landing. There are few who could save this and Nana Patekar is one of them.
