A great movie of all time again from Kamal in this 10 role venture. Story, screenplay and dialogues
are also penned by him in this multi-faceted movie, with KS Ravikumar directing it for Aascar movies. Every avatar he plays is different in look and characterization. It shows the immense desire to do good films in Tamil to get it into the world arena.
Kamal in Nehru stadium, tells about two stories. One dates back in 12th century where Shivaites and Vaishnavaites were fighting to show their majority. Nepolean plays as Shivaite trying to force Vaishnavite change their ideology. Kamal along with his people tries to fight against them, but dies at last with the same God he worships. Hariharan's song is worth mentionable in this place for the situation.
The story dates near the 26th Dec 2004 tsunami period. Govind is a scientist working for a project in US with team headed by Indian for biological weapon production. US President Bush(played by Kamal), donates several billions of dollars for the project. Ex-CIA agent(Also Kamal) wants to get it for his sake for money and buys Govind's boss. In a lab test, they find that the biological weapon they created will destroy a whole country, so Govind tries to destroy it. But the boss tries to take out the vial which holds the weapon and tries to sell it to ex-CIA agent, which in turn takes his life by Mallika Sherawat (sex bomb) for the agent. Govind steals the vial and packs with courier packages to India and he too goes there to take it. Govinds friends take him into trouble acting as helping him. But one of the friends wife is Chinese, who gives away her life saving Govinds from CIA. That girls brother is KungFu master Kamal, who wants to take revenge for the murder and goes to India. CIA also goes in search of it.
When Govind, who is trapped in courier packages comes out, is caught by Indian agent (Another Kamal), Naidu. (he speaks typical Telugu style). And he escapes from there and changes the weapon packet to another parcel before the CIA takes it. This time it goes to an old lady(again Kamal), who is mentally challenged living with grand daughter Asin. Old lady puts the vial inside Lord Perumal's statue. Again searching for it comes CIA with MS Baskar as translator and driver. While taking it to safety with Asin, Kamal gets caught with sand mafia group (P Vasu and Santhanabharathy). Again helped by another Kamal, who is a dalit Christian in the area.
While escaping from there, they meet with accident on road to see 7-foot Kalifullah and his family (Nagesh and KR Vijaya). They also meet singer Avatar Singh (another Kamal) who has throat cancer, and must take rest. But he has to sing his last song for audiance, with medicines nearby in cool box. Govind also puts the vial having Gods idol in cool box to save it from damages and to keep it in proper temperature. When the boxes changes, Singer sings with blood leakage and again they all get caught with CIA Kamal for the vial. At last comes the tsunami day wherein, Kali Kamal with his people are put in interogation in a mosque by Naidu. Dalit Kamal is talking with sand mafia for change. Kungfu master trying to stop CIA from killing Govind and destroying the vial.
The only way to stop the outcome of vial breakage is tonnes of salt, which when CIA breaks the vial is giving by nature by tsunami. The medicine loses power, but lakhs die on it. Dalit Kamal is killed saving P Vasu's children. Singer Kamal's throat tumor escapes by bizarre bullet by CIA. They change and at last everyone praises Kamal with the song by Ravikumar.
All the characters used in movie are nicely chosen and acted. The screen is only seen with Kamal all along the storyline. The effort is phynominal, with showing difference with each of the 10 avatars.
An effort to take Tamil cinema to world class is great. A movie worth to watch for everyone.
