The movie was not upto the mark and did not live up to the expectation .On a scale of 1 to 10 on all attributes I would rate the movie 6.Kamal is an excellent actor one of the best actors in the world and is eligible to be in the top 5 in world cinema. The screenplay was bad the music was pathetic and Asins acting was very bad as she had no chemistry with kamal as their age difference showed a lot. But you have to appreciate kamals performance dedication and hard work he has put for the movie. The other major flaw in the movie is that Michaels make up for kamal gets highlighted more than his acting. Some of the make up was bad. We all know that kamals a talented artist as he does acting directing story screenplay dialogue singing producer ,but in this movie he took a lot of responsibility and he was not able to do justice to all departments. The problem with kamal is that he’s obsessed with himself. This movie is not kamals masterpiece like his older movies  like Indian , nayagan, Anbe Sivam, Kurithipunnal,Siggapu rojakal,Rajaparvai,Pushpak etc. I hve just given my views as a normal viewer.
 

The other point I don’t agree with many of the reviews is that people like masala films only then all the movies with 5 songs 3 fights some sentiments some romance will be a hit only very few masala movies become a hit and the audience have become matured as off beat films are becoming hits even in the rural areas like Autograph,Kakka Kakka , Kathal,Kathal Kondain,Ram,Pollathavan,Anjathe, Mozhi, Paruthiveeran ,Sethu, Pithamgan etc so you cant say that every body likes only masala movies. People are open to different kind of movies.

The main point is that when you go to the theater you should not feel bored.So with all the hype Dasavatharam was just above average movie .
