Movie Name: Evano Oruvan
Casts: Madhavan, Seeman and Sangeetha.
Director: Nishikanth Kamath.

I am not sure where to start..... this is a movie where a middleclass employee of bank who goes about his life in a mechanical way. The life that we live in metro cities typically is portrayed in this movie. At the end of film Seeman finds no answers to some of the very question that we ask ourselves.

Madhavan alias Sridhar Vasudevan is a bank employee living in suburbs of Chennai, in a housing colony. He has a routine life every day and he has his own code where he cannot compromise anything against law. He wants to live by law but the world is different. Everyday compromises are made and the wheel is just spinning by compromises. When he is provoked by his wife he takes the law into his own hands. He turns violent and spents two days wandering around the city not knowing the repercurssions of his actions.

Seeman, a police officer who is intriguied by his self conscience and tracking the actions of Madhavan is a view of audience. He feels (and we also) that the rampage done by Madhavan is nothing wrong but the outside world has a different look at it. A compromise is made and the Commissioner of Police orders shoot at sight. We ask why??????. Does the system work like this?????. I do not think the system work like the movie.... I believe the climax is done for the movie.... or maybe this is the extreme step some system can take.

The movie is made into two hour long movie and the events that were happening was slow.... rather screenplay was slow and slumber. The screenplay should have been like clock ticking fast to explode a bomb. The other thing about the movie was that Police could not find him for two days. This is highly impossible because once someone is wanted by the police, first they would place one or two PCs near his house and office. Madhavan visits his colony once and goes to his office once. The point is he would have got caught soon probably before one day ends. I think for the sake of movie they made it longer!!!!!!!. So, the movie itself is a compromise for Tamil Audience!!!!!!.

These kind of social awakening movie comes and goes but nobody answers the right questions, simply because they can tell the problem/issues but not the solution. Ask Medha Patkar or Aruna Roy who are fighting for inequalities, they can offer solutions. Mahatma rightly said "Be the Change you want to see". All the movie gimmicks don't work or affect the system.
