Director Saran is always known for his entertaining love stories which are spun with an interesting yarn.If food for thought is what you want, Idhayathirudan is not for you.But if you are one of those who just want to chill out and watch some wholesome entertainment with all the commercial ingrediants put together, well, this is for you.

The story is all about how Kamna, the heroine tries to play pranks with her dictator mother,a Home Secretary,by e-mailing her 'revealing' pictures in a pseudoname. It turns out that that it isn't really a pseudoname, and Ravi who encounters troubles because of this name, falls for Kamna at first sight. The rest of the story is about how he steals her heart, and the title is justified.

As the title of this review says,Jayam Ravi rocks! And it certainly looks like emotional scenes are his forte..Be it the subtle expressions or stunts, dance or the comic sequences,he scores in them all with equal ease.Nobody would have expected the kissing scene from Ravi, considering his polished portrayal in his earlier films. The scene is definitely unnecessary as it dilutes the so called depth of his love. Well, not his fault,maybe...Anyhow,good going Ravi!

Kamna is sure to stay for some more time in the Tamil tinsel town, with her seemingly never-say-no attitude to glamour. She seems to get her steps right in dance sequences too.As far as emoting is concerned, she has a long way to go.

Prakash Raj,who plays the Asst Commissioner of Police,is as usual,at his best.He has deftly shouldered the role, which isn't surprising considering his versatality.

The songs are a delight, one must confess. When the audio hit the market, the music didn't really strike a chord. But the songs are placed so appropriately in the film, with good picturisation in exotic locales, that they stay in your mind and lips for a long time.Particularly,October Kaatru,Goiango and Urikka urikka(which reminds us of 'Thalageezha' from Gemini,Saran's super-duper hit film)are good.Of course,'Arabia' seems unnecessary.

The dialogues penned by Crazy Mohan definitely call for some applause. He steals the show in the comedy sequences, which has the audience in splits. The dialogue delivery of Santhanam, who plays Ravi's friend adds to its impact.

On the whole,a flick which is worth your money and time provided you go with the intention of watching a entertainer!
