Featured Kireedom Movie Review

by powerfulfour

Being inspired from an award winning movie is not new in Kollywood, but doing justice to the story is nothing short of an achievement. AL.Vijay achieves that in style. A simple story with simple characters, captured on celluloid in the most simplistic fashion. The movie is set in Trichirapalli, is all about a honest police constable Rajarajan (Rajkiran) who dreams of making his son, Shakthivel(Ajith) a Sub-Inspector of police. Being an honest policeman always has its price, and Raja Rajan is transferred on a constant basis. When Rajarajans dream was about to come true, he is transferred to one of the most treacherous areas, Kodiangarai. This is a place ruled by a local dada (Ravi) Karans honesty is disliked by him. One thing leads to another and Ajith ends up thrashing the villain and now the wounded Villian wants revenge. And the rest of the movie is all about how Ajith faces the problem, and whether he becomes the inspector or not. The movie is shot very well but the movie is not without its share of minuses the movies pace drops in the second half where the director has concentrated more on the emotional scenes and melodrama. Music by G.V. Prakash's Music is average and his background score leaves a lot to be desired. Camerawork by Thiru is nothing short of exceptional. Editing by Anthony is a big plus for the movie. but didnt the second half of the table go to his desk for editing? The emotional and sentimental dialogues by AL.Vijay and Na.Muthukumar, will definitely go well family audiences. AL.Vijay has done a perfect job in selecting the right artists, and has extracted the best from each of the artists like an experienced director. AL.Vijay as a director has a bright future. Its very hard to pick who impresses more, Ajith or Rajkiran. Ajith has done the role to perfection. His screen presence and dialogue delivery proves why he is having such big fan following. And Rajkiran as Ajiths father has given a flawless performance. He is proving time and again about his acting skills, and this performance will surely rank amongst his best. Trishas role is not miniscule role but has a prominent part in the proceedings and she excels in it, and she looks ravishing. Saranyas performance as Ajiths mother is so natural. Vivek comes and goes but Santhaam steals the show with a superb performance. Ajay as the villain, thinks being a baddie is just about talking loudly and screaming at the top of his voices. Its a nice realistic attempt towards good cinema. But if the sluggish pace in the second half is taken care off, the movie would have been much crisper. Final Verdict Worth a watch

Plus Points: Performance, Direction
Minus Points: Villain, too much melodrama
