Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule Movie Review (11 Reviews)
The movie doesn't need a review; still needs to be told about, a caution for the unwary. The Hero (Vennkatesh) is a tramp despite being a proclaimed graduate. He appeared to be not that computer savvy, yet manages to land a cushy job in a software company after 10 years of deserved unemployment. That too thanks to a wonderfully portrayed heroine (Trisha-somebody told me) who takes kindly to his ignorance in English speaking abilities unaware of this lackadaisical looking ordinary and stupid bloke who looks surprising unabashed, gives him extra points to get the job as her assistant. Afterwards, it is same old fare of the hero proposing crudely to the heroine who is already betrothed to his best friend who in turn was also unaware of his friend (heros) infatuation-looking love with his would-be partner. It so happened that the friend is a cousin of heroin (cousin fit to marry in consanguinity allowed in Andhra) Prior to that the father of the hero, a middleclass widower putting up with the nonsense ofhis hero-son died of heart-attack in sleep, maybe he kicked the bucket for the fault of hero sharing drinks with his father on the night before over their reminiscing a misadventure of their confronting the heroin about the love proposal of hero.(It is loathsome and a shame to put such scenes of father and son sharing drinks whatever be the excuse in Indian middle class familiesgives a doubt: directors are in truck with distillers?)
Soon follows the Kichidi fare of hero being taken along by his friend to his native place to live in peace post his fathers demise where we can find a medley of mismatched stereotype characters in a combined family that can easily make up a small village by itself crowd-wise with the normal idiosyncrasies of country scene. There are vulgar mannerism displayed like breaking wind and defecating in open places to bring in laughs, seems not to be cared by the audiences. The redeeming point is of course the scenes where the women of the house dragged the hero for male escort to a nearby town in a cramped SVU to buy wedding sarees, a perfect laughing riot. The rest is mundane, pedestrian, pedanticand unforgettable nightmarish boredom. It is better the movie is avoided like a plague despite you are bored to death and there is only one place left on earth to be there, that is the theatre where this show is on and more so when you are invited to this movie free of cost with a promise of free dinner post movie. The hero has come of age sadly, means over aged with little mobility and articulation in the face and not many fights and dance numbers to write home about, even if you normally care to email home about them. Period.
Minus Points: hero heroine mismatch- sterio type pedestrian
