Namesake by Mira Nair - The German Version
The film has an energetic story. Looks like a lot of hard work behind the scene by Ms Mira Nair -- however there are errors -- to say it in a term, Bengali, "guruchandali dosha"
Found some irritating zones in this version -- the unnecessary use of peculiar German accent hurting to the ears...This made the presentation shabby.
Bollywood films shown on Private German TV Channels convey that not always all are lost in Translation
The film though deserves audience for the sake of it. Namesake Jhumpa Lahiri, her effort to share true-life feelings with her written words.
The film the train accident clips uncaringly artificial. Frankly speaking, found kind of occasional lethargy in shots of Kolkata too.
The family still at Taj Mahal looked good but the excitement by which Gogol decided to study Architecture was missing because of it appeared brief.
The film relates to a generation of 1970 immigrants and onwards...
Best is to watch the film and draw conclusion, self.
