Views 207 The story line of this Radhakrishna directed film is not unlike many other love stories from the Telugu film industry. Saravanand plays the lead here, playing the role of Abhiram, the son of a rich Multi millionaire. He leads a lavish, spoilt lifestyle showing utter disdain and disregard for the power and underprivileged.
One day, he comes across Janaki, played by Kamalini Mukherjee, Janaki is an orphan who quite ironically is interested in social work and serving the poor. Abhi’s attitude towards the poor eventually comes up and his efforts of turning his friendship into love turn futile. She is disgusted with his attitude leaving him shattered. This is when the movie comes into its own, as Abhi meets Gaali Seenu. Seenu played by Allari Naresh puts in a stirring performance as good natured thief, who accompanies Abhi on his journey.
They both set out on a Motorcycle to find Janaki, and this is where the cinematic resemblances with the English hit film Motorcycle Diaries sets in, only instead of ‘Che Guevara’ here it is Abhi and Seenu who set out on a journey of self-exploration. Seenu comes into his own here, with scenes of delightful comedy keeping the audiences engaged and enthralled. It is this journey which witnesses the turning point of the film, during the journey Seenu gets into a deadly battle with the Naxalites which he succumbs to. During the course of the journey, Abhi also witnesses the plight of the poor here first-hand. He repents his attitude towards them, and embarks upon a journey of becoming a changed man. As with most films of this genre, this one too has a happy ending with Abhi meeting Janaki and claiming her love.
Overall the movie does engage you, Saravanand the actor puts in a fair effort and there is considerable improvement from some of his previous performances. Kamalini’s role is brief but she puts in a commendable job. They all pale in comparison however to Allari Naresh however who simply steals the show. The Music with lyrics by Sirivennela is only average. Though they are made up for by the well written dialogues and the effective photography. On the whole, it is a great start by debutant director Radhakrishna, he has taken a thin story and has built on it to make it extremely engaging.
