V V Vinayak. average movie raviteja
VV Vinayak who was known for high voltage mass films changes his track this time. Though he made some entertainers like Dil and Bunny in the past Vinayak always loved to be termed as mass director. Even audience expects such films from Vinayak. He tasted bitter results with Yogi and thought of changing his track this time.
He zeroed in Raviteja as the lead and when you have an "entertainer" like him you could never think of heavy dose mass subjects. Vinayak didn't try anything silly; he only Okayed a subject titled Krishna which is tailor made for Raviteja. The motto of Krishna is to entertain and entertain and entertain only.
When you have an out and out entertainer on hands you could never ask for better season than Pongal time. Everything worked in favor of Krishna and the initial talk is encouraging too. Krishna is the perfect choice which will sync well with the festive mood.
There is no big story in Krishna. It is a beaten one in which the antagonist fall in love with female lead and the protagonist comes to her rescue. Raviteja is the protagonist and Mukul Dev is the antagonist, both their love interest is played by Trisha.
Vinayak and the writer Shiva made it sure that this beaten plot engrosses and entertains the audience all the way. The screenplay is swift; it is hard to find a single boring moment in the 2 and a half hour movie. Songs are placed at right intervals and there are three, four action blocks for mass audience to cheer at. Vinayak is at home canning the action episodes especially the scorpio chase gets huge applause.
The film is never short of entertainment at any point of time. Brahmanandam is the back bone of this film with his typical one-liners and funny expressions. It is a treat to watch Raviteja and Brahmanandam in a single frame as both of them have impeccable comedy timing.
Raviteja performed the character of Krishna with élan. He is getting better and better with each film and one couldn't help loving his style of acting and his typical dialog delivery. He is good in action scenes too. Trisha is the central character of the story but she gets very little to do in terms of performance. She sizzled in songs and her skin show is a visual treat to fans.
Brahmanadam is at his best and you will never get bored with this man. He is a treasure to Tollywood. Mukul Dev, sibling of popular villain Rahul Dev did a good job too. Jaya Prakash Reddy, Venu Madhav, Sunil, Chandra Mohan provides few laughs. Sayaji Shinde is routine. Sudha and Sana did well.
Music by Chakri is average but didn't disturb the mood of the film. Better output from him might have helped the film's range. Background score is not at all impressive. Dialogues by Akula Shiva are witty most of the times. Chota K Naidu cinematography is neat and the editing by Gowtam Raju is crisp. Production values are noteworthy.
On a whole Krishna have all the ingredients in it to become a decent hit. It is a complete Paisa Vasool fare and might go well with Class and Mass audience too. If you are looking for a film which entertains then this is the one! Who cares for story and other logics when a film entertains from the word go.
