Hero Venkat (Prabhas) & heroine Sailaja (Thrisha) love each other. Bhadranna (Gopichand), the Don of Telangana comes to see Sailaja and decides to marry her. How Venkat wins Sailaja by defeating Bhadranna is the story of the movie.

Analysis: If you have observed the recent movies of our Tollywood, the storywriters are showing their utmost interest in changing the backdrops of the movie, of course they are successful to a certain extent, but they are unable to change the story-lines.

Following the same trend the story of Varsham is based on previous 'Seema movies stories. The movie has the shades of last years bumper hit Okkadu, from the same banner.

Like Okkadu, the movies best department is direction. Shoban with his second film proved his directional abilities very much. The introduction scene of the hero reminds the Hollywood movies like MI-2. Luckily he got one of the best producers of the Tollywood for his second film, to prove his excellent directional abilities, especially in action scenes.

The first fight of the movie, where in the hero Prabhas fights with Raghu Babu & his Gang is the highlight of the movie.

First half of the movie is good with one excellent fight, which elevated the heroism of Prabhas very much. And the romantic scenes between Prabhas & Thrisha are good, where Rain (Varsham) occupies prominence in the movie.

Screenplay for the second half is not gripping wherein there is no interesting story.

Music by Devi Sri Prasad is a plus point to the movie. All the tunes of the movie are impressive. Nuvvosthaavante song is the highlight of the songs. The picturization of the song is amazing. Shobhan showed the feel of the Varsham (Rain) in the song very well with his directional abilities.

Photography is also very impressive. Background score is OK. But it would have been better if Devi Sri Prasad avoided copying the Singamalai (Simhadri) music in some emotional scenes.

As usual Paruchuri Brothers excelled in their department by providing commendable dialogues. Lots of simple dialogues elevated the heroism very well. One of the impressive dialogues is, Paruchuri Venkateshwar Rao to Gopi Chand "Vaadu Gelavataanike PuttadanukoNuvvu Bathakataanike VodipoyyavanukoPada Podaam" is a good dialogue after villain gets defeated by the hero.

Prabhas excelled in the angry-youngs man's role. He is very impressive when uttering powerful dialogues and action scenes. He needs a good subject to get a break.

Though this is a big movie, from a big producers banner and a talented director, the story screenplay departments of the movie are weak.

Thrisha is very impressive with her expressions. Though she is not a Telugu Girl, she gave her expressions with perfect ease. She did the mass steps very well in the song "Nuvvosthaanante".

For a change, this time Gopichand played the typical Prakash Rajs character. The character is very near to that of Prakash Rajs character in Okkadu. Gopichand did his best in the role. He has very less dialogues through out of the movie. But did the Telangana Don role with perfect seriousness.

Prakash Raj played the father role of Thrisha. Sunils comedy in the first half of the movie is good.

Final Point: As a total the movie is average with the routine storyline. The first half of the movie is impressive with a mix of entertainment and seriousness. Second half of the movie is filled with lot of boring moments. But the movie is worth a watch for its beautiful taking, handsome hero & good music.
